Ahmad Dahbour was a leading figure in the movement for the liberation of Palestine and  many of his poems are sung.   An account of his life is given in this article  from .  He had been a fighter,  a war correspondent, a literary editor, a song writer , Deputy Minister of Culture of the Palestinian Authority, as well as an award winning poet.
