According to the book Companion to Contemporary Black British Culture: 'Fred Williams came to England in 1963 at the age of 16. He has worked in public transport for much of his life. A performance poet in his spare time, he was particularly productive in the late 1970's and early 1980's. William's publications include Me Mobile Wen (1981), Movin Up (1978) and Leggo do Pen (1985).'     Publications are in no discernable order.
