The first of three performances over consecutive nights. Gail Thompson
Talking Loud & Saying Something became a famous Sunday afternoon Jazz club event run by Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge. This was a packed day of performances both day in London and infamous Camden Dingwalls then hotfoot over to Belfast for an evening performance.
When performed in London she was supported by other performers, but the the venues outside London, like Belfast, we believe from the information on the flyer and budget constraints that her performance tour was a solo event reading. The second of ten performances.
This was the solo leg of her tour and took place in Liverpool’s Edgehill Library.
This date is billed as ‘Jayne Cortez on Jayne Cortez’ and features her reading from her work and discussing it. So a little less performance-orientated than the tour’s other dates.
Final event featuring The Bukky Leo Quartet – including the excellent jazz pianist Jonathan Gee.
