This Poetry Festival was organised by Apples and Snakes in partnership with Big Word.
The festival ran from Monday 24th – Saturday 29th June and included Poetry Workshops on Sat 29th June.
A programme to celebrate India’s 50th year anniversary of Independence. Showcasing Asian voices exploring notions of destiny, language and territory. Yet another example of Apples and Snakes representing the wide ranging and inclusive programming of the diverse cultural landscape Britain.
In association with Payback Press. This was a launch event for The Fire People, a landmark collection of contemporary Black-British poetry. A combination of established and up-and-coming names, the collection captured the zeitgeist of the UK scene at the tail-end of the century.
