Tongues Untied - a celebration of the work of Essex Hemphill

The screening of the film ‘Tongues Untied’ that celebrated and explored the multiplicity of Black Gay life in America.

This was billed as 'a special evening celebrating the work of Essex Hemphill' who sadly died of AIDS the previous year in November. Poets came together to read poetry by or inspired by Essex Hemphill. Essex Hemphill was a prominent and proud African American voice in Gay literature.
